“The art of handling air”: That is TROX's motto. Founded in 1951, the company specializes in ventilation and air conditioning for rooms. By manufacturing the necessary components and systems, it has become the global market leader in this niche market. Its headquarters are located in Neukirchen-Vluyn, North Rhine-Westphalia, near the German-Dutch border. From there, the “hidden champion” delivers its products all over the world. TROX has more than 5,000 employees in over 80 countries – in twenty production facilities and twelve research and development centers. The corporate group thus achieved a turnover of almost 750 million euros in the 2025 financial year.
“DZ BANK has helped us get to where we are today,” says CFO Thomas Mosbacher. “It wasn't always easy,” he recalls of the early days of the partnership. Since 2012, DZ BANK has been supporting TROX's financing projects, granting loans and handling currency hedging transactions, among other things. “We came together at a time that was economically challenging for us. The market was weak until 2015. However, we saw growth potential and decided to make significant investments.” This was initially reflected in the balance sheet.
“DZ BANK understood our situation at the time and financed our plans. Growth took time, but we were able to achieve what we had set out to do,” emphasizes Thomas Mosbacher. Over the past ten years, TROX has nearly doubled its sales, expanded into new countries, and increased its number of employees by more than 1,000. “The close partnership that has developed during this time has ensured that DZ BANK now enjoys our complete trust.” It has since become one of TROX's core banks.
As a foundation-affiliated company, TROX attaches great importance to sustainable business development, not only in its home market of Germany. The ventilation and air conditioning specialist is investing in its headquarters in Neukirchen-Vluyn, creating more than 100 modern IT workstations in a new administration building, making its plants more climate-friendly with photovoltaic systems, among other things, and constructing a new logistics hall at its plant in Anholt. “We will also grow strongly abroad,” explains Thomas Mosbacher. In China alone, 34,000 square meters of additional production space are planned, supplemented by a large PV system with a capacity of around three megawatts. This will make production there virtually CO2-neutral.

“We are investing record sums in 2025 and 2026 and are examining additional acquisition opportunities. This sometimes means that financing has to be arranged quickly. We know that DZ BANK is just as quick to act,” says Thomas Mosbacher. "Just like us, DZ BANK takes a very forward-looking approach, so we don't have to worry about a lengthy process when it comes to new credit decisions.”
