Bank account statement and reporting
As part of the ISO 20022 migration, you will be required to use the following formats for transmitting account information:
- <camt.053> (BankToCustomerStatement for the end-of-day account statement)
- <camt.052> (BankToCustomerAccountReport for intraday reporting).
These formats will replace the former Swift formats:
- <MT940> (Customer Statement Message for the end-of-day account statement)
- <MT942> (Interim Transaction Report for intraday reporting).
If required, we can also exchange statement and reporting messages using the ISO 20022 format with your other banks; this service involves use of so-called relay or forwarding messages.
For your account held at a third-party bank, the third-party bank can send statement and reporting messages to DZ BANK via Swift on your behalf. DZ BANK then enables you to retrieve this information via EBICS.
For your account held at DZ BANK, DZ BANK can also forward statement and reporting messages to third-party banks via Swift on your behalf.
Please note that account information in the ISO 20022 <camt.053> and <camt.052> formats differs significantly from the former <MT940> and <MT942> formats. While implementing and processing the new structure and numerous supported elements may be challenging for your company, these formats also offer the potential of a much higher degree of automation in the downstream processing – thereby significantly reducing your daily reconciliation activities.
Therefore, please make sure your systems are updated in time
- Review your internal accounting systems
- Update any additional downstream processing systems, where necessary
- Update your booking logic
Use the potential of ISO 20022.

As a first step, we can offer you the former <MT940> and <MT942> formats alongside new <camt.053> and <camt.052> formats in parallel.
If we do not hear from you before October 2025, we will continue to send you the <MT940> <MT942> account reports for your DZ BANK account; at the same time, we will also provide you automatically in parallel with version 08 of the new <camt.053> and <camt.052> reports for retrieval via EBICS.
If you are still using an older version of <camt.053> or <camt.052> (version 02), we will automatically migrate you to the current version 08 on 15 May 2026.
We will send you an informational account statement outlining the next steps and the detailed timetable for your accounts.
